Hera LightingHighLite tubular fluorescent display lighting configured to your needs.... |
|
The HighLite system utilizes Hera's SlimLite system but with greater control of placement. It does not need to be under cabinet and the round brushed anodized aluminum housing is very stylish and goes with
most decors. Great for use as display lighting. Two different length of mounting stems are available for deeper or shallow displays. Tubular lights are avaialble in 4 lengths to configure to your shelving or display
widths. Extremely long life bulbs, rated for 20,000 hours. Create short or long continuous streams of light. Mounting stems come in two lengths for moderate or greater distance from the wall. Light tubes can be rotated
also to thrown light outward, downward, backward, or even upward if using them to shine light on artwork from below. There are specific details below under ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS that will assist you in purchasing all the parts you require for your installation.
The graphics below are from the Hera Lighting catalog. If difficult to read on your screen, they generally print very well. |

The HLC and HLE diagrams shown above are side views of the round collars. They are not square as the diagram may lead you to believe. They are short round tube connecting/holding elements. |
ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS: These instructions are very important. Please read them all.
- All HighLite components are sold separately. Packaged 1 piece each.
- Per light run, whether one light or multiple lights, you will need two (2) HER-HLE end pieces.
- HighLite systems can be mounted vertically or horizontally, but in straight lines only. No elbow connectors.
- Between lights in multiple light runs, you will need a HER-HLC per connection. Thus if you have two lights in a run, you will need one. If you have 5 lights, you will need 4. If just one light per run, you
do not need the HLC.
- You will also need a HER-SCC12/XL per connection to connect lights in a multiple light run. For easy math, with each HER-HLC you need, you will need an equal number of HER-SCC12/XL connecting cables.
- HighLite tubular lights ship with the fixture inside them, BUT NOT THE BULB. You must order bulbs in addition to the lighting elements. In the chart below, warm white and cool white bulb part numbers are listed
and noted as which fixture they fit into. Bulbs last approx. 20,000 hours. You can order extra bulbs, but anticipate with minimal use, you may not need a spare for a long time. If used 8 hours a day, 5 days a
week, a bulb could last 8 to 9 years.
- Both lengths of mounting stems are threaded 1" deep on one end for through-bolt mounting to "firm" wall surfaces such as wood or other rigid material. A nut and washer are supplied. Stems are 5/8" in diameter.
The other end of the mounting stem threads into the HLC and HLE. You will need one mounting stem per HLC and HLE for your application. If mounting to sheet rock or drywall, the HER-HLWMP wall mounting plate is
advised. You would need one HLWMP per mounting stem for mounting on sheet rock or drywall. The HLWMP can also attach to a gang box. HighLites are UL listed and intended to be plugged in as any lamp can be.
- The lighting element within the HighLite is the Hera SlimLite XL. Thus the HER-SCC12/XL connecting cables will slip through the end of the light tubes and through the HLC to connect lights in a series. You will
not see the SCC12/XL once it is in place.
- The HER-SPC/HL power cable is UL listed and comes with the plug end detached. Once you feed it through the mounting stem (HLMS11 or HLMS19) and then through the HLE end piece, you will attach the plug and the
lights plug into a wall outlet. This wall outlet can be wired to be controlled by a wall switch. You will need just one SPC/HL per run of lights. If you decide to connect the SPC/HL power cable to 12 or 14 guage
household wiring as you would with a ceiling fan connection, you can.
- An example of a HighLite application:
Three of the HL65 lights and one HL42 light will be connected in a continuous run. You will need to order: 3 HER-HL65, 1 HER-HL42, 3 HER-SFB35CW or WW, 1 HER-SFB21CW or WW, 2 HER-HLE, 3 HER-HLC, 3 HER-SCC12/XL, 1 HER-SPC/HL, and 5 of the HER-HLMS11 or 19. Again, the wall mounting plate is for non-bolt-through applications on less sturdy mounting surfaces.
- Longer light runs will become heavier and are not advised to be mounted only onto drywall.
