THE FACTS ABOUT DOOR PRICING

Quality Doors Mullion Doors and Frame Only doors

Two color image sample door pictures, line art denoting the various choices you have, profile links, and a table showing your various wood species will display below. Finish availability varies by wood species. Doors can be ordered unfinished or finished. Watch the minimum size requirements in the charts below.

What you need to know about Mullion and Frame Only (FO) doors: You will have to select a door design from the line art below, and then a frame, and edge profile to create the look you will like. Profiles can be viewed on the profiles page.

You also need to select a wood choice, and then state unfinished, or select from one of the finish choices for that wood. Some profiles are allowed for glazing, some cannot be glazed. More detailed info on that is on the wood finishing page.

You will need to provide quanity and size info. Doors can be bored for concealed hinges. Arch top doors must have boring stated for the left side, or right side, or as pairs. Also tell us if you need concealed hinges.

This is a more complicate series to order from. Because of the various frame, and edge choices, and several door designs, hundreds of different looks can be created. Along with frame only options for series 300, 500, and 700 doors. Arch top door can have two columns of mullion lites. Twelve lite maximum on mullion openings for large doors.

Note 2-1/4" is the default frame width on Series 300 mullion and frame only doors. Widths from 1-3/4" to 5" can be specially requested for this series. Series 500 and 700 mullion and frame only doors have their set frame widths.

Caution when ordering: Mullions of doors of different heights, widths, and/or designs may not line up.

Finish availability varies by wood species. Doors can be ordered unfinished.

SPECIAL NOTES CONCERNING MULLION DOORS

• Wood door mullions available on 300 series doors with 'K' or 'S' inside frame profile only.
• Not available with 'D' or 'G' inside frame profile.
• Quarter circle arch available in all woods except Walnut and Mahogany.
• All minimum sizes for doors are listed in the table above.
• Glass retaining molding is available from Quality Doors, sold by the foot. Cannot be used on RTF doors, it will slide out. Adhesive caulking and window taps recommended to secure glass in RTF doors.
• Consult the series 300 and 700 pages for available wood species, finishes, and RTF color choices for mullion and frame only doors.
• Styles 300, 301, 314, 316, 700, 701, and 716 are shown as 4-lite. They can be 6-lite, 8-lite, 9-lite, etc. The number of lites must be stated when ordering. It stands to reason, the larger the door, the more lites you may want to consider.
   

To determine glass size for FRAME ONLY doors, follow this guideline:

CT381 and CT382 not cut for square opening.
IT IS WISE to have your doors in hand before you take on the expense of cutting glass. Just in the event a measurement is not precise. We do advise you to receive your doors first, then take them to your glass cutter for him to measure the proper size glass for each door....

 

Mullion Doors do not come with glass.
Contact your local glass supplier for various glass options available to you.
It is a good idea to bring your door to your glass cutter so he can size the glass accordingly.

Advisement: Use caution when boring for concealed European hinges.
Quality Doors can bore your doors for you if you wish. See the euro hinge boring page for more details.
 Hinge boring must be done before glass insertion to avoid risk of breaking your glass.
